Here are more suggestions of other ways to practice at home...
- Have your child read books from school, home, or the library- to themselves, other people, stuffed animals, and/or pets.
- Parent/Guardian reads to the child (as long as some days child is doing the reading too!)
- Go to Starfall.com to read books
- Look on other sites mentioned under “Great Websites” on the blog- there are plenty of words to read as they either play games or look around.
- Practice handwriting- pens, shaving cream, markers, play-doh, etc.
- Have your child participate in real-life writing- letters, cards, reminders, grocery lists, other lists, etc.
- Add ideas to a journal or writing notebook
- Go to Spelling City.com (do the free version with limited access)
- Check out this choice board
- Print a math problem or two from the links to solve.
- Play one of the math activities found on our blog under “Math Games”
- Play other board games that incorporate numbers/money/dice (Yahtzee, Monopoly, Phase 10, Dominoes, Parcheesi, Sorry (just flip 2 cards at a time to add), War (flip 2 or more cards at a time), etc.
- Play a computer game located on our blog under “Great Websites”
- Practice fluency of known facts with number bonds.
- Check out these sites for videos of math games:
